Pastel Colors: Names, HEX Codes & Soft Shades

Pastel colors are light and soft: bright enough to feel airy, with only a gentle amount of color. Here a color is pastel when its HSV value is at least 80% and its HSV saturation is between 8% and 50%. Grays, blacks and whites are left out.

Pastels behave like other light colors. They need dark text (every pastel here reaches 4.5:1 with black and none reaches it with white), and they often vanish against a white page unless you add a border or a deeper accent color.
